Unusual Name PDF Print E-mail

This first purpose of the name was to make it easy to remember, we hope that you think it is as well and that you might follow us on Facebook or twitter.  If you do we'll provide you with timely tips on technology and computing.

Back in the late 1990's, I heard a reference to it, saw that the domain name was unused and available.  For the last eight years it's worked as a repository for website and software design projects.

There really wasn't any reason 600 was selected other than it made for a great logo and the domain name had been registered.

Now for the nerdy part.

The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare.

It turns out that the likelihood of typing the word "banana" by chance is less than 1 in 15 billion ((1/50) × (1/50) × (1/50) × (1/50) × (1/50) × (1/50) = (1/50)6 = 1/15 625 000 000)

Here is the Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem talking more in depth about statistics and random occurrences.

There really wasn't any reason 600 was selected other than it made for a great logo and I had the domain name.
